At Salisbury Orthodontics, we like to make sure that whatever treatment you choose, it fits in with your lifestyle.
That is why we recommend Invisalign® to many of our patients. Using clear, plastic aligners which are virtually invisible, most people won’t even notice that you are having orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign® is an incredibly discreet way to straighten your teeth. It’s perfect for adults who are self-conscious about wearing a brace. Many of our Invisalign® patients say no one even notices they’re having straightening treatment as the aligners are nearly invisible.
The Invisalign® system works with state-of-the-art technology, providing both you and us with precise results. To begin with, we use our Trios 3Shape scanner, which captures accurate impressions of your teeth and jaws. The scanner works in conjunction with Invisalign’s® 3D computer imaging software called ClinCheck. This process means that you can see in advance how straight and beautiful your teeth will look once you have completed your orthodontic treatment.
You will have a set of clear, thermoplastic aligners, custom-made to move your teeth into position, little by little. You will need to wear each aligner for about two weeks before you replace it with the next aligner in the series. But don’t worry, we won’t need to see you every fortnight – we usually give you enough aligners to keep you going for 8 – 10 weeks between appointments.
It makes sense to have your teeth straightening treatment carried out by a specialist orthodontist. At Salisbury Orthodontics, we have a fantastic team of orthodontists who are all registered specialists.
Being a teenager is hard enough without having the extra complication of train-tracks! That is why we use Invisalign® for many of our young patients. These braces are so discreet that it is almost impossible for most people to see that you are having orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign® Teen uses clear plastic aligners to move your teen’s teeth. The Invisalign® system achieves the same results as a fixed brace but with nearly invisible aligners.
Sets of clear, custom-made thermoplastic aligners, move your teen’s teeth into position, little by little.
Because the aligners are removable, they can be taken out to eat, brush and floss. This means that your teenager will not have to change what they eat and it makes it easier for them to keep their teeth clean. They can also be removed when playing musical instruments or attending a school prom.
If your teenager is very sporty, the aligners can be worn during sport, provided a mouthguard is worn over the top – double protection!
Although Invisalign® aligners have the benefit from being a removable brace, it is still important for your teen to wear them for 22 hours a day to get the best results. To remind your teen, the aligners include blue dots which fade from blue to clear to help monitor how much they have been worn.
We usually give your teen enough aligners to keep them going for 8 – 10 weeks between appointments. This fits in really well around school-time and school holidays.
